Times Change, but some things stay the same

Back when I was away in college, I started simming.  That is RP for Star Trek for the ones who don’t know what it was.  The type I did though was Forum based.  Today, I was sort of thinking about that.  There was some good and bad associated with it though.  The good part of it all is that I learned how to type faster than what I was able to do when I was in high school.  The bad was that I had to deal with drama that was associated with the communities I was part of at the time.  If I could go back, I don’t think I would have made that same choice knowing what was involved.

I don’t think it would have changed much of where I would be today.  I would probably be the same person who sometimes care to much.  I still think that I would have still played STO as my first MMO, but I do not think I would have been with the same fleet I had started with.  That would have been fine because there was a lot of drama within that community.

I don’t play as much STO as I once did, but I do play SWTOR.  I have found some wonderful communites that I am part of.  Some are actually big and some are actually small, but one thing they all have in common is that that there is either none or nearly no drama within the community.  Have I been in communities that have had drama in SWTOR?  I can say yes to that.  I just tried to distant myself from that.

When it comes to MMOs or any game, I am here to have fun and that is one thing I bring to the table.  If you do group activity like I do, you learn to work with other players within the game.

I may not entirely be the same person I was years ago, but I am the same person when it comes to helping others out and caring a little to much at times.
